Citizens for Lysander is a non profit unincorporated association of concerned citizens. We are dedicated to protecting our community of Lysander from the health, environmental and economic harms of hyperscale data centers. We encourage local residents to learn about the impacts. The more residents we have engaged, the louder our voice is.

Why this proposal matters to Lysander
WATER
Hyper-scale data centers can require significant water resources for cooling. Understanding the potential impact on local water supplies is critical to resonsible development. The proposed data center site sits directly on Baldwinsville's primary aquifier
Protecting our water resources
Energy
The proposed project would add a 270mw electricity demand on our grid, the equivalent of 200,000-300,000 new homes. Baldwinsville residents already face frequent power outages and enormous utility bills. Alternate power generation from the natural gas pipeline would produce extreme levels of air pollution.
Understanding the energy demand
Environment
The proposed site at 2200 Hencle Blvd is surrounded on 3 sides by Three Rivers Wildlife Management area. A large scale land conversion would fragment natural habitats and disrupt migratory patterns. Contaminated waste water has the potential to poison adjacent natural water ways.
Guarding our natural habitat
Community
Hyperscale data centers produce a constant, low frequency sound known as infrasound. Infrasound has the potential to cause physical illness in humans, such as nausea, vertigo, migraines and more. Children are specifically susceptible to the sound and it can disrupt their cognitive abilities.
